Competioins

General compo rules

  • As on every demoparty, entries must not have been released previously.
  • Only submit your own work. Entries must be free of 3rd party rights unless you have a legal and transferable license to use and redistribute the 3rd party content. Further restrictions may apply (see below)
  • Any entry that violates German law will be disqualified. No hate speech, child pornography or similar.
  • Organizers reserve the right to disqualify your entry if it's, to quote Revision, crap or detestable. You have the right to free speech but we have the right to choose what we're amplifying on our platform.
  • We also reserve the right to skip or fade out long scrollers or parts where nothing happens.
  • If there are too few entries in a given competition, we might merge this competition with another one. Should this happen we'll ask you if you still want your entry to run.
  • If there are too many entries in a competition, we will try to assemble a jury from the party visitors, and have a preselection round.
  • In case your entry gets disqualified or does not pass preselection, it will not be spread.
  • Should there be a technical problem with your entry, we'll contact you. You can test your entry on our competition machines, but try not to stretch our patience too much :)

Realtime

General compo rules

  • All platforms allowed!
  • We will start with the combined categories below, but if there are enough entries to warrant their own categories, we will split the compos according to what you create, eg. newschool and oldschool, or 4k and 64k.
  • In case your platform is not one of the compo machines below, bring your own device and any necessary peripherals and cables, and contact the organizer team. Additionally, please make a video recording of your entry and submit it alongside (not in!) the release archive. If you're unable to provide a recording, we are glad to help.
  • Entries must be submitted as zip files or optionally, in case of oldschool platforms, disk images. No installers, no external libraries; what's inside the zip must run without any more steps on a freshly installed version of the platform of your choice.
  • Except: If you submit a browser/Javascript production, please specify your preferred browser in the organizer notes, and how to start your entry. We can supply a local http server if the entry doesn't run from the local file system.
  • Any size limit includes all files necessary to run the production. We'll run all entries with all non-essential files deleted.
  • If you use a fixed resolution, the maximum we support is 1920×1080. Presenting a selector with higher options is ok of course.
  • Pressing ESC (or whatever your platform's exit key is if it has one) has to end the demo instantly.
